Frustration

I don’t know if I have just been unlucky, but my frustration with working in Taiwanese companies is no sense of direction, no overall business plan, no strategy.

Just go and find new customers, whatever it takes. That is the order, but no one wants to deal with the real issues.

I have outlined the challenges that the company faces & got to deal with both short and long term, but nothing happens. I also outlined what will happen long term, if nothing changes in a positive direction. It is very very frustrating for me to work here.

Do you guys have similar experience ?

Yes.

The problem is that sinking the company might be part of an overall strategy based on manipulating the stock market. Lots of benefits for the manipulators. For the rest of the investors, doom. For mployees and debt collectors, ruin.

Ask around if your company belongs to any of those groups. A look at their stocks reveals the aha moment.

That is the reason they bleed money all over the place ... except wher eit would really help the copany grow. That, and face.

So make sure you are not spilling pearls before swine. Your advice may not only be unwelcomed, but probably go against "the plan".

You mean you boss seems like he's in the position only because he has been at the company for a long time due to the fact that he has no skills to go elsewhere? And he likes to order you to do meaningless busywork because he has no clue what the division or branch is actually supposed to be doing, because there are 5 other divisions that are doing the exact same things?

This company is a private held company.

Anyway, frustration which will lead to no motivation and so forth ..... I think it hard to cope.

Excatly ~ He never had a job or a boss. He took over this company from his dad.

I think one could line up all the foreigners in Taiwan who is working for a Taiwanese company and all of them would be able to tell the same story.

It's a fairly common story here but there are companies that are more logical and proactive. Basically in Taiwan more than other places perhaps you just need to change company usually cos most companies are small and controlled by families.
So if they don't listen move on is the only real choice.

Yes it is a family run business. The company is a mess and nothing is going to change. They are good at blaming the staff for pretty much anything.
