When posting, especially when starting a new thread, please use a title that explains your post or thread, e.g. don't put "Help please!" when you could put "Where can I find a camp site near Kending?"

Please check your spelling, because someone may do a text search for your information, e.g. if someone searches for information on Xizhi and you have spelled it She Jher, they won't find it. Someone spelled camping as "campin" without a g at the end - again, it can't be found by a text search. For place names in Taiwan, please try to use Hanyu Pinyin as default, as that is the spelling most people know.

If you find a thread that is so hopelessly out of date that it couldn't be of use to anyone, please send the moderator a private message (with the URL of the thread)

If you spot two or more threads that you think could be merged, again, alert the moderator

I found the rest of the canal.

It runs right past Dapingling MRT station. I followed it down to where it flows into the jingmei.

It's just beside this well known spot on the jingmei. The pipe on the right is actually quite a thrilling spot to go snorkeling.

Anyway on the canal it isn't long before we come to the first bridge..

Another cat..

Image

You can tell what he is thinking, and frankly, would advise against it..

Image

Bloddy hell he "almost" makes it..

Image

Then again he almost didn't.

Anyway, he has his own cat's life to live. He has his own tail to tell. And his own tail to tell it with. He is a real live barking democratic cat, engaged in his own struggles, with something to say about ecology. And ontology. Frankly he doesn't care at all what you lot think.

I gotta say that the Dapingling Section of the river is not as pretty as the Waterskiing Sanchong Section or the Mountain Greenery Section.

Yuh, it's a bit gicky alright.

As a study in ecology, urban design, absolute despair etc. however it makes for quite a walk. You can easily follow it from dapingling station down to the jingmei and then back again all the way to Danshui station. There is about a block and half that disappears under the city but if you follow the main road that looks to be running roughly in the same direction as the canal you can find it easily.

If you actually "look" at it there is a lot of life going on in there, and beside there.

I'm glad you liked the other sections better though. I've done a bunch of new ones. You can find them over here..

So, did you stand firm and unwavering when that dog came near your bike?

Oh, nicely balanced horizons there, bob.
“Everywhere else in the world is also really old” said Prof. Liu, a renowned historian at Beijing University. “We always learn that China has 5000 years of cultural heritage, and that therefore we are very special. It appears that other places also have some of this heritage stuff. And are also old. Like, really old.”
