Thats not in the OP, and in going back over the thread I do not see that request in any of Enigmas posts. I can understand the ease with which the "I'd have done this or that " might come from folks, but its not something the OP, Enigma, asked for. IMO he was merely sharing a strange event which occurred for him. If anything, to me at least, he seemed more perplexed about his girlfriends reaction.

Take what you can find I guess. Faint as your claim may be.

I could be mistaken, but conduct such as this is spoken about, unfavorably I believe, in the "Forum Rules."

Anyhooo...I've said all I care to here. As I posted earlier, Good Luck to Enigma & his Girlfriend. I hope this has not created a problem for them. And I hope all are safe on these 'mean streets.'

"Fisticuffs in Tianmu. What would you do?"
A little different than "What we would have done...."

It's well to remember that no-one really knows exactly what "they" would have done in a similiar situation. If alcohol or stress or a full moon or even a bad day are factored out of the equation, the actual variation in deeds is limitless.

I would have just walked away or ignored him--you don't have to answer strangers' questions.

Precisely. Or chibbed him. Depending on how bad my mood was at the time. Certainly it's true that I spend as little time as possible interacting with plebs.
The mood was as dark as the clouds swirling around the town's famous hat museum yesterday.

And you have to be kidding me with that challenge to document instances of American racism. I'd rather not google (nor post) those images, but if you really need proof, might I suggest you google them yourself. Try these key words: America+Racism

You said America is one of the most racist nations in the world, not just that there is racism in the US. Typical hyperbolic, unthinking anti-Americanism from you.

I guess I am not shocked by all the He-men in here who resort to fists first, post (read; brag) later. Good on ya, sizzle chests, tough guys.

I guess I'm shocked you continue to believe the OP resorted to fists first, when all he did was make one smart remark. Next thing he knew a crazy, xenophobic attacker takes a swing at him. All he did was defend himself.

Why is it that whenever this kind of thread is posted on the 'mosa we are guaranteed the usual sanctimonious replies from people who think it's perfectly okay to go around acting like a complete tosser without expecting to take a smack? Whatever

I don't think I was being sanctimonious. The OP asked about a situation that involved him "punishing" someone for being an asshole. Basically my point is that it is indefensible. If you are going to do something like that. Say fuck it to the community and the universe and do what you gotta (or wanna) do. Don't pretend that there is some court of public opinion that will make it justified. That being said, I totally agree that if you act like a wanker, you will get smacked.

If the guy who got punched by the OP made a thread, I would reply:
1. Get some friends and so you don't need to talk to people you don't know.
2. Don't mess with people you don't know or you will get punched.
3. If you want to mess with people, don't mess with them in groups unless you have a group.
4. Learn to punch properly.
5. Ease up on the drink, home slice.

But, that guy didn't, the OP did.
