It's that time of year again. Here's the message form the organizer. Hope you'll all come. Lovely venue, lovely music, lovely food, lovely lovely booze.
Quote:
Daniel Pearl Music Day will be on
Sunday, September 30th from 1-10PM at
Xinyi Public Assembly Hall (¤½¥Á·|À]) across the street
from the World Trade Center on Xinyi Road.

Its a beautiful, outdoor location, which has just been
opened to public use. We are fortunate to know one of
the individuals who campaigned to preserve this park,
and we believe the venue will be a convenient and accessible
venue for this event. If your wondering why its not
on Saturday, well, as it turns out Saturday is a full working
day for just about everyone in Taiwan.

Bands who have committed to performing include
David Chen and the Muddy Basin Ramblers, Public Radio,
Coach, 88 Guava Seed, .22, Crossroads, Al's Hothouse Chicago
Jazz Band,To A God Unknown, Black Summer Days, and 2 Acres Plowed.

Like last year, there will be delicious food and drink
generously provided by the Tavern.

I remember last year was. IIRC correctly Irishstu brought his wee man ( and his son)along, and there were other kids about. Has it really been one year since I saw Tash and Erhu destroy that young lad who tried to chat them up?... oh lord!

Totally kid-friendly, ginge. Think of a big BBQ on a sunny Sunday except with live music. They're really good, relaxed, fun events. And if the nipper's old enough to walk, he or she's old enough to be told the message of unity amidst diversity, which is the point of the whole thing.

Location: Capone's or The Tavern-Premier
The event will certainly be very kids friendly, there is plenty of running and playing area for them on grass, away from the roads. The Tavern-Premier's and Capone's Chefs will do Burgers, Sausages and Fries, Geneva's will do Melted Raclette Cheese with boiled potatoes (suitable for vegetarians). Will sell Heineken Beer which generously support the event again, soft drinks and Standard Mix Drinks. The Event is bigger and better this year compared with previous years but also more costly to put together. Please do refrain from brining your own food and drinks to the event, profits from sales are needed to pay to organise the event and we also want to make a sizeable donation to the Daniel Pearl Foundation.

I would like to thank Sean Scanlan who spent a lot of his time to put this event together every year. SatelliteJim who will be the stage manager (bands, watch out he just bought a pair of army boots) and all the other many volunteers that help with this event.

One more thing, if you plan to come by Car, park it in the 101, Mitsukoshi area as there is only a small parking lot in the area that gets full quickly.

But I don't want his big sausage fingers sorting through the M&Ms to take out all the red ones! And the MBRs ONLY eat red ones.

I'll have to try and get up there for it. If you see me, say hi. I'm easy to spot - the ginger with cameras.

And Tavern Capt - any chance of some of your yummy fish and chips?
